History
Mechanically it is far from standard:
- Engine is small crank 1300 with balanced, lightened bottom end.
- Head is late MK4 Spit with unleaded inserts
- Spit MK3 spec camshaft
- 2 x 1.5” SU carbs with K & N filters and stub stacks
- Triumphtune 4-2-1 exhaust manifold & homemade exhaust with Vitesse Mk2 rear box.
- Aldon distributor plus Ignitor (Pertronix) electronic ignition.
- Lucas ACR17 alternator
- 13 row oil cooler and thermostat
- Electric fan
- Gearbox is Dolomite 1500 single rail with J-type overdrive.
- Specially made propshaft.
- Brakes are Vitesse 2L complete.
- De-cambered rear sping and Spax adjustable dampers.
- Wheels are K & N (I think) (13 x 6.0) with 165/70 tyres
Bodily it is quite sound although not very beautiful. More or less standard, apart from smooth bumpers.
Interior is original except for the carpets and dash and in quite good shape.
- Dash is Vitesse Mk 1 with Dolomite instruments
- The black seat is a period seat cover (over the original seat) with side supports. I think it’s been there from new.
